Capital City Midgets is a group of midget enthusiasts who are committed to the concept of affordable midget racing.
Our cars are sportsman midgets, and support all sanctioning bodies hosting races in Northern California.
We believe that spec engines is the best way to ensure competitive racing while offering an affordable race package for the owner/driver.
Our engines built by Keith Iaia of SCREAM/Revolution Racing have been known to last more than 100 races. Try that with an Esslinger, Pink or Gaerte.
While this sort of racing has not taken off in Northern California, we believe that it is only a matter of time.
This class is just a midget version of the spec sprint which has taken over open wheel racing in this region.
Although the spec sprint like most non sealed engine class is beginning to have the problem of all classes, cost. Competitive engines are now costing the racers upward of $20,000, compare that to a new Focus or Chevy engine from SCREAM or Revolution Racing at $9995.
