Land takes home CCM Checkered
Running his Focus engine, Matt Land of Elk Grove beat the Super Focus Motors on the dry slick track at Placerville Speedway. Crew chief Tom Land, made the call to run a larger softer tire proving to be the right call on the slick track, hooking up the 91 MotoWear Spike in a way the SuperFocus could not with their harder tires.
Land who started the American Lemans style race with the BCRA in the 14th position, worked his way past class leader Rick Young of Shingle Springs on the 12th lap. When the checkered flew on the dry slick track Land had worked his way up to 11th overall, and was able to pass more than one BCRA regular on his way to the win.
Young who started 13th on the grid, held on for a 2nd in class finish ahead of Bill Lyon, Lonny Alton and newcomer Cody Spencer.
Spencer from Cameron Park, debuted his Stealth/Super Focus for the first time this season. Cody is expected to be a CCM regular from this point forward. Welcome Cody.
In heat race action the CCM almost had their own race being joined by the midget of David Pricket, who took the win. Second was Dillon Silverman in the newly debuted RRE EcoTec, followed by Land, Young, Spencer, Alton, and Lyon.
